Stagecoach South West has today issued an apology to its valued
customers with regards to late busses. After many complaints from enraged
customers the head of Stagecoach South West, Mr Rea Tard finally spoke up to
explain the dire service offered on their 1, 1A and 1B busses to and from Exeter.
Mr Tard has this to say: “Well, the problem is that due to
Bradninch being a place that nobody wants to go to, our busses have to
counteract against the force pulling them away from the town. As well as this,
our drivers are paid extra to pull away when people are still getting on the
bus and also to drive past waiting passengers”.
Mr Rea Tard also confirmed that the busses would no longer
use the B3181 to get around this problem and explained the new route, “ Yeah,
it will go right through all of the villages so we can serve more people, but
we have had to take the long and hard decision to only stop once in Cullompton.”
Passengers reacted badly to this news with some even taking
to Twitter to show their disgust. Megan Evans, a first year college student tweeted
“Why can’t Stagecoach always drive past my house? My mumma pays £180 a term for
my pass and this is the least I expect!!”
Another, Lauren Evans posted a photo of the crowding on her
single decker bus and wrote “Is this some idea of a joke?” which received five
retweets and two favourites from angered
passengers. I decided to pose the question to Mr Tard and he had this to say: “No,
it is not a joke. Trying to break the world record for most people squeezed
into a bus in a serious matter”.
In other Stagecoach
news: They are set to change to the timetable ever so slightly without warning
anyone. Mr Tard said this is to “Keep people on their toes”.
